BEAM
BEAM (Business Entrepreneurship And Math) is a seminar course for Year 12 students at grammar schools in Baden-Württemberg.
BEAM is a programme that connects schools with the business world. Pupils develop their own business ideas and work on real-life issues – from brainstorming to business plans. Practical methods such as design thinking are used in the process. Through company visits, research and discussions with successful entrepreneurs, pupils experience entrepreneurship first-hand.
‘BEAM was important to me because it helped me discover entrepreneurship as a career path. That had a decisive impact on my future.’
Daniel von Maydell, former BEAM student and founder of fravio
BEAM breaks with traditional teaching methods by working exclusively with speakers from the field. Students leave the school environment and gain their first experiences in the business world. This boosts their self-confidence, initiative and career orientation. With BEAM, students build their first professional network themselves.
There is an exchange with other international BEAM schools. Contact with students of other nationalities broadens BEAM’s horizons beyond school and the region.

SPARKS provides the programme free of charge and offers comprehensive support to teachers, including clear schedules, ongoing assistance and coordination of external speakers. No prior knowledge of the subject is required.
